Guide to Japanese Romaji Input

Master phonetic kana conversion rules and double-consonant composition.

1. Romaji IME Mechanics

Romaji input allows users to type Japanese using standard Latin keyboards. Syllables are parsed to match standard Hiragana and Katakana representations (e.g. 'sa' -> 'さ', 'shi' -> 'し').

2. Sokuon (っ) Character

The small 'tsu' character (Sokuon) represents a doubled consonant sound. In standard keyboards, typing double letters like 'tt' or 'kk' triggers the sokuon composition before generating the next vowel.
